Glossary
A quick reference for the words that come up throughout this guide, in ordinary language.
Skin / cosmetic
A visual item that changes how a character, weapon, or object looks without changing how it performs.
Skin swapper
Software that makes your own client display a cosmetic your account doesn’t hold. The effect is local and doesn’t change what you own.
Client
The part of a game that runs on your device and draws what you see.
Server
The authoritative side of an online game that keeps the real record of accounts, ownership, and events. Other players’ games read from here, not from your device.
Client-side vs server-side
“Client-side” changes affect only your screen. “Server-side” records are the ones that actually count. A swapper is client-side; ownership is server-side.
Anti-cheat
Systems that look for tampering or unauthorized software to keep games fair. They tend to flag client modifications regardless of intent.
Ban
A penalty that restricts or permanently removes access to an account for breaking a game’s rules. Can affect purchases and progress, not just the offending item.
“Undetected”
A marketing claim that a tool avoids anti-cheat. It describes a moment in time at best, and is often used to lower a person’s guard.
Information stealer
Malicious software designed to collect valuable data — saved logins, session tokens, payment details, wallets — from a device it runs on.
Session token
A credential that keeps you logged in. If stolen, it can let someone access an account without needing the password.
Two-step verification
An extra check at sign-in, so a stolen password alone isn’t enough to get into an account. One of the most effective simple protections.
Rarity tier
Labels such as common, rare, epic, and legendary that signal how hard a cosmetic is to obtain. Part of what makes rare looks socially desirable.
Terms of service / EULA
The agreement you accept to play a game. It typically forbids modifying the client or running unauthorized software.
